40 years old!! I love it! It’s definitely one of my favorite Christmas songs cuz it makes me laugh every time I hear it. It starts out so positive - At Christmas time We let in light and banish shade and then it gradually turns into a gigantic patronizing downer. But say a prayer, pray for the other ones. At Christmas time it’s hard, but when you’re having fun. there’s a world outside your window and it’s a world of dread and fear where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears And this is the best part - And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom. Well, tonight thank God it’s them instead of you. And it keeps getting better - And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmas time. The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life. Where nothing ever grows, no rain nor rivers flow. Do they know it’s Christmas time at all? I know I sound like a dick and this is why I don’t have any friends but these super wealthy British snobs making the Christian masses feel guilty about how they spend their Christmas money while people in 3rd world countries suffer - there’s something funny about that. I didn’t like Sam Kinison as a kid but as I was writing this I remembered his solution for world hunger (hate the screaming).
